Pearls for Management of Steroid-Responsive Dermatoses

therapy. For decades, multiple steroids have been used in various manners to treat a range of diseases and inflammatory disorders. While they are generally beneficial to patients, clinicians and researchers have learned of potential adverse effects of corticosteroid use that are important to consider when prescribing these agents. Furthermore, effective alternative and adjunct therapies have emerged. At the 2010 Winter Clinical Dermatology Conference in Hawaii, several experts shared insights on use and application of steroids and the overall management of patients with steroidresponsive dermatoses. This article compiles a number of clinical pearls from the conference.
